Key West Trip!
Hello guys, welcome back! I know its been a long time since I have written anything in this blog, so let's kick-off this re-opening with a very special trip-- Key West! We started off this awesome trip with a scenic drive from Homestead, Miami (we were visiting there earlier) to Key West. We passed over 40 bridges to get from the main peninsula to the Keys, which means there was LOTS of sparkling teal-blue water. About half of the way to the Keys, there is a lookout bridge which you can walk over if you want some GREAT photo opportunities. Anyway, after getting there at about 2:30 in the afternoon, we grabbed a (not so quick) bite for lunch at Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine, located near Duval Street in downtown Key West, then scurried off to the Key West aquarium. Guys, this is where is gets SO AWESOME. The Key West aquarium has SEA TURTLES!!! As some of you who have visited Key West may know, you need to be very, very patient to spot a sea turtle on boat rides and such, so it is an extremely rare possibility you will (I did, but more on that later,) Here, you can see four awesome sea turtles named Hector, Spike, Lola, and Rocky. The caretaker of these sea turtles led us through a detailed presentation about these sea turtles, what they eat, their stories and more. I was incredibly lucky to see them getting fed when I arrived, too. An interesting fact about Lola is that she is identified as the rarest species of sea turtle in the world! Both Hector and Lola use prosthetic fins as they had to get one of their fins amputated because of unfortunate accidents.... Alright, thank you guys for tuning in today and don't forget to stay tuned for parts 2 and 3 of this Key West Adventure!
